Hearst Networks EMEA’s head of programme acquisitions Kelly Hornsby exits

Hearst Networks EMEA’s head of programme acquisitions, Kelly Hornsby, has confirmed her departure from the company after almost 13 years.

Kelly Hornsby

London-based Hornsby joined Hearst Networks EMEA in 2013 as acquisitions and commissioning editor, before becoming acquisitions manager in 2014 and then head of programme acquisitions in 2018.

Prior to that, she spent six-and-a-half years at Channel 5 in the UK, now known as 5, first as an acquisitions assistant before being promoted to factual acquisitions exec.

It comes as Dan Korn, VP of programming at Hearst Networks in the UK, prepares to step down from the role after 10 years.

Hearst Networks, a subsidiary of Hearst, owns and operates factual entertainment brands The History Channel, Crime+Investigation, Blaze and Cosmo across the UK, Nordics, Benelux, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

Posting on LinkedIn, Hornsby said: “After almost 13 years, my time at Hearst Networks EMEA as head of programme acquisitions has come to an end, and it’s time for a new adventure.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with some truly talented and brilliant people along the way. We’ve achieved great things and delivered content to be proud of. I’ve built strong relationships and I’m grateful that so many of you have become not only trusted colleagues and partners, but also good friends.

“As this chapter comes to a close, I’m feeling positive and excited about what’s next. I’m open to new opportunities where I can put my experience and love of great content to good use. A huge thank you to everyone I’ve worked with over the years — you’ve made the last 13 years special.”
