Hearst Media ups Bryan Curb to president as Frank Biancuzzo set to retire

Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) in the US has promoted Bryan Curb to president, replacing Frank Biancuzzo who will retire mid-year.

Curb, currently executive VP and general manager of educational/informational (E/I) programming at HMPG, will start his new role on July 1.

A four-time Emmy winner and 20-time Emmy nominee, Curb has served as executive producer on more than 40 network television series. He was appointed to his present role at HMPG in 2022 after serving as chief creative officer for Litton Entertainment.

Curb currently oversees all aspects of E/I programming, including programme development and production, business standards and practices, sales and marketing.

Under Curb’s leadership, HMPG brought back to broadcast TV brands including the Harlem Globetrotters and Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, introduced new multi-season programming, extended HMPG content on to digital platforms and oversaw new records for HMPG shows in terms of audience ratings and awards.

Before joining Litton in 2018, Curb was founder and CEO of MTO Productions, a Burbank-based independent TV and video production company. He created content for platforms including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and Comedy Central, as well as for brands such as Kraft, Quaker, Frito-Lay and the UFC.

Curb began his career as a director and editor with credits on more than 100 episodes of television, as well as national commercials and series main titles.
