Hearst Media Production Group taps Maria Thrasher for branded entertainment

Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) has appointed media sales and marketing veteran Maria Thrasher as business partnerships and development executive.

Thrasher previously ran her own North Carolina-based consultancy and before that was senior integrated marketing director for radio broadcaster Radio One in the US.

Thrasher, who has a background in sales and brand development in television, radio and the start-up sector, reports to Amy DeGregorio, HMPG’s senior VP, managing director of sales for educational/informational programming.

HMPG, a business unit of Hearst Television, is an independent producer and distributor of original programming for TV stations, broadcast and cable networks and streaming services.

Its current programme portfolio is made up of more than 30 series and hundreds of hours of content annually on broadcast station groups, networks, connected TVs and streaming platforms. It has a library of more than 4,000 hours of programming and its content can be found in 97 countries.

Shows include Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, Weekend Adventure, CBS Dream Team, The More You Know, One Magnificent Morning, Mi Telemundo and Go Time!.

It also distributes programming and content including Law & Crime Daily, Prime Crime, Consumer Reports TV and FAST channels Xplore and The Jack Hanna Channel.
