HBO takes SNL performer Tim Robinson’s comedy The Chair Company to series

Warner Bros Discovery-owned US cablenet HBO has handed a series order to The Chair Company, a half-hour comedy starring, written and executive produced by Tim Robinson.

The American actor and comedian, who rose to prominence more than a decade ago as a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live, is writing and exec producing the project alongside Zach Kanin.

In the show, Robinson plays a man who finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy following an embarrassing incident at work.

Other exec producers on the project include Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, and Igor Srubshchik. Andrew DeYoung directed and exec produced the pilot.

In addition to Robinson, the cast includes Lake Bell (Harley Quinn, Mother Couch), Sophia Lillis (It, I Am Not Okay With This), Will Price (After the Hunt) and Joseph Tudisco (A Brooklyn Love Story).
