HBO Max reveals EMEA leadership team

WarnerMedia has named the leadership team for its HBO Max streaming service in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) ahead of its global roll-out.

Christina Sulebakk

Christina Sulebakk, previously general manager of HBO Europe, has been named general manager of HBO Max EMEA.

Sulebakk will be responsible for transforming HBO streaming services in existing markets (HBO Nordic, HBO España, HBO Portugal and HBO Go in Central and Eastern Europe) to HBO Max later this year.

Reporting to Johannes Larcher, head of HBO Max International, she will also oversee the expansion of HBO Max into more territories across EMEA in due course.

Sulebakk has held several executive positions at HBO Europe over the years and played a pivotal role in launching HBO Nordic, HBO España and HBO Portugal.

Her executive team will include Line Mykland as leader of the content experience team, which will be responsible for developing and implementing HBO Max’s editorial strategy in EMEA. Mykland has been with HBO since 2012 and was involved in the launch of HBO Nordic.

Elsewhere, Roberto Soto will head growth marketing, Brett Horowitz will lead data, insights and planning, Tobias Andersson will be the EMEA regional legal lead, Andreas Ferdinand will lead product experience and Mark Spivey will be the talent lead.

The news follows the unveiling of a leadership team for HBO Max in Latin America earlier today.
