HBO Max lines up docuseries with Berlanti and Iwerks tracing origins of DC Comics

WarnerMedia-owned US streamer HBO Max has ordered a three-part docuseries celebrating the legacy of DC Comics.

Produced by Warner Bros Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, DC, and US prodcos Berlanti Productions and Iwerks & Co, the documentary allows fans to rediscover the universe of characters, as well as the iconic comic book company’s origins and evolution.

The series, featuring heroes like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, is executive produced by Leslie Iwerks for Iwerks & Co, Greg Berlanti for Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

Co-exec-producers are Mark Catalena for Iwerks, Rachael Jerahian and Jonathan Gabay. The series will be co-directed by Iwerks and Catalena.
