HBO goes back to The Brink

US premium cablenet HBO has renewed its Jack Black and Tim Robbins political comedy The Brink for a second season.

The series is set during a geopolitical crisis and follows the US Secretary of State (Robbins) and a lowly Foreign Service officer (Black) as they attempt to save the planet from a Third World War.

Created by brothers Roberto and Kim Benabib, it began airing on HBO in the US on June 21 and is produced by Little City Iron Works, Everyman Pictures and Jerry Weintraub Production with HBO.

It joins fellow freshman comedy Ballers, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, in being renewed by the channel.
