Restaurant reality series Vanderpump Rules

NBCUniversal International’s reality-focused SVoD platform Hayu will launch in Canada this week, following its European launch.

The streaming service’s previously mooted launch in the Great White North will happen this week.

Its programming line-up will include Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Vanderpump Rules, Below Deck, and the Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing franchises, comprising some 6,000 episodes of reality TV from more than 200 titles.

Priced at C$5.99 (US$4.67) per month in Canada with a one-month free trial, the service has already rolled out in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Australia.

Hendrik McDermott, NBCUniversal International’s senior VP for branded on-demand, said: “The proven healthy appetite for reality programming amongst Canadian viewers is reinforced by early enthusiasm for Hayu, with thousands already bingeing on multiple favourite shows. We are excited to build momentum with Canadian subscribers.”
