Harry Potter stars to mark franchise’s 20th anniversary with HBO Max reunion

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts brings toegther original cast members on HBO Max

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are reuniting for a 20th anniversary Harry Potter reunion on WarnerMedia-owned US streamer HBO Max.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts features interviews and cast conversations about the film franchise 20 years on from the release of the Sorcerer’s Stone movie.

Radcliffe, Grint and Watson will be joined by cast members including Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs and Gary Oldman for the retrospective, which will air on HBO Max on January 1.

The one-off special will be produced by Warner Bros Unscripted TV with Casey Patterson and Pulse Films.

In other news, premium cablenet HBO has acquired Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off, a feature doc on the skateboarder’s life and career exec produced by Mark and Jay Duplass and directed by Sam Jones.

The feature doc will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max in 2022 with access to previously unseen footage and interviews with Hawk and prominent figures in the sport, including Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill and Lance Mountain.

Finally, HBO Max has also acquired the first two seasons of kids’ series Odd Squad from Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment for its feed in Latin America.

Odd Squad is a live-action comedy about young agents who are equipped with the world’s most advanced and unpredictable gadgetry. It was created by Tim McKeon and Adam Peltzman and is coproduced by Sinking Ship Entertainment and Fred Rogers Productions for PBS, in association with TVOkids.

It premiered on TVOKids in Canada and PBS Kids in the US in November of 2014.
