Half Yard co-CEO steps down

Red Arrow Studios-owned US outfit Half Yard Productions has revamped its corporate structure, with one of its co-CEOs stepping down.

Abby Greensfelder, who founded Half Yard with fellow co-CEO Sean Gallagher, will step back from day-to-day activity at the company from the end of February.

Gallagher will become sole CEO from March 1, while Greensfelder will remain a co-owner, shareholder and board member of the prodco with “with an active role in corporate direction and strategy.”

Greensfelder is also developing a new company that aims to support the voices of women in all forms of media. Further details are yet to be revealed.

The rejig will see Rossana O’Hop, chief financial officer at Half Yard, promoted to the newly created position of chief operating officer, overseeing all finance, production management and post-production operations at the company.

Nicole Sorrenti, currently VP of programming, will be promoted to the new role of chief creative officer, with oversight of all production and
development .

Elsewhere, Half Yard executive Janice Mezzetti becomes senior VP of production and operations while John Jones has been upped to VP of production and development.

Greensfelder said she “feels called at this point in my career to focus on the urgent need to elevate women in media. As co-owner and executive board member of Half Yard, I am also excited to remain engaged with the continued growth of the business I founded with Sean.”

Half Yard has projects in production and development with 10 network partners, with shows including The Last Alaskans and Say Yes to the Dress on TLC. The Say Yes franchise has also spawned a spin-off in the shape of Say Yes to the Nest, which airs on HGTV in the US.

Half Yard was founded by former Discovery senior programming executives Greensfelder and Gallagher in 2006 and became part of ProSiebenSat.1-owned Red Arrow Studios in 2014.
