Gymnastics drama Corpo Libero lands at Paramount+ NZ, Cosmote, MTV, TV4

Corpo Libero (The Gymnasts) has been sold into over 30 territories

Paramount+ in New Zealand, Greece’s Cosmote, MTV in Finland and Sweden’s TV4 have all acquired Italian drama series Corpo Libero (aka The Gymnasts).

Based on Ilaria Bernardini’s novel Corpo Libero, the six-part thriller is coproduced by Italy’s Indigo Film and Rai Fiction, Germany’s Network Movie and Paramount+. All3Media International distributes.

Paramount+/Viacom acquired the rights in Italy, Australia, South Korea, Canada and the UK. The latest pick-ups mean Corpo Libero is now licensed in more than 30 territories.

The coming-of-age thriller centres on a team of elite teenage athletes as they compete at an international tournament high up in the snowy, atmospheric Italian mountains.

Rivalries are fierce and relationships complex as the teammates fight for a chance at Olympic selection. As tensions escalate, the drama of adolescence clashes with the brutal pressures of competitive training, and when it is revealed that a competitor has died, the police suspect murder.
