Guru Studio, Time Studios team up for animated educational series Scoops

Toronto-based animation company Guru Studio is partnering with the kids and family division of US-based Time Studios on an animated educational comedy series.

Scoops, planned as a 52×11’ series, follows eight-year-old fact-finder Ellerby and her best friend Olsen as their natural curiosity leads them to uncover the truth hidden behind rumours in their neighbourhood.

Created by Fablevision’s Tone Thyne (Adventures of Napkin Man, Wonderpets) for kids aged five to eight, the show focuses on media literacy and aims to help kids separate fact from fiction, whether it is a school rumour or online misinformation.

Scoops is executive produced by Guru Studio’s president and executive creative director Frank Falcone and VP of creative development Rachel Reade Marcus, and Time Studios’ head of kids and family Maria Perez-Brown.

Guru Studio will manage international distribution in addition to merchandising and licensing rights.
