Gurney exec fills Cineflix unscripted role

Cineflix Media has appointed former Gurney Productions executive Brandon Killion as its exec VP of programming and development for North America.

Based in LA, Killion will spearhead unscripted development for broadcasters in both the US and Canada, where the Canadian producer-distributor has found success with reality series such as Property Brothers and American Pickers.

Killion, who left his VP of production role at Gurney last October, will work with Cineflix’s president of production Charles Tremayne and exec VP of Production Kim Bondi to further expand the firm’s slate in Toronto, New York and LA.

While at Gurney, Killion oversaw a slate that included A&E’s Duck Dynasty, Haunted Collector, Auction Hunters and American Diggers.

Prior to that, he spent seven years at Thom Beers’ Original Productions, where he cast and developed titles such as Ax Men and Swords: Life on the Line and later showran American Hoggers and Ice Road Truckers.
