Gulli and RTVE hop aboard Froggie from Monello Productions, Pikkukala

M6 Group-owned Gulli and RTVE in Spain have come on board Froggie, a coproduction between Banijay Kids & Family-owned Monello Productions and Finland’s Pikkukala.

Created by Eric Noto-Loubier and Cécile Sady, the 52×11′ series follows an 11-year-old frog who grew up in a huge city and is suddenly forced to live in a small town in the middle of the country.

For a curious, confident and adventurous girl, it seemed like the perfect place to live, but she must learn to adjust to her new surroundings as she tries in vain to get cell phone reception.

Cécile Sady, chief operating officer at Monello Productions, said: “There’s a universality to the themes of friendship, finding your identity and dealing with change, and we’ve combined these with some brilliant humour, which we hope will entertain young audiences around the world.”

The deal comes as Banijay Kids & Family Distribution, which represents worldwide distribution for Froggie, recently secured multiple package sales with broadcasters in the UAE, Hungary and Vietnam.

Shows including Super Agent Jon Le Bon!, Topo Gigio and Totally Spies! are heading to Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia’s E-Vision and ejunior in UAE; Waybuloo, Shasha & Milo, and Rekkit Rabbit will be available on CLT UFA SA HBD, the channels and streaming platform of RTL Hungary; and Totally Spies!, Marblegen and Redakai will air on Vietnam’s LALATV.
