Great Island to open production centre in Cork

NEWS BRIEF: Mark Kenny and Jim Robinson’s Irish prodco Great Island (The Harbour) is planning to open a production centre in Cork as pubcaster RTÉ and national agency Screen Ireland look to support production clusters outside Dublin.

The company also expects to move into production on its comedy-drama Headcase, one of 12 projects in the outfit’s development slate, in late 2024. The series follows a troubled street artist from Cork, his former boxer sister and an agoraphobic friend in their search for a more meaningful life.
