GoQuest grabs Indian drama duo

Ek Thi Begum (The Mafia Queen)

India-based distributor GoQuest Media has added a pair of local dramas from streaming service MX Player to its slate.

Queen (11×50’) follows an actor-turned-local-politician who suddenly becomes the youngest female chief minister of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The series premiered locally in December 2019.

Ek Thi Begum (The Mafia Queen, 14×30’), meanwhile, is inspired by true events and tells the story of a femme fatale who pursues the most dangerous underworld gangsters of Bombay to avenge her husband’s murder.

GoQuest has acquired the shows for international distribution.
