Good Caper Content teams with Hearst Magazines on true-crime docuseries

ITV America-owned prodco Good Caper Content is teaming with New York-based publishing company Hearst Magazines to produce a true-crime docuseries examining some of the most unexpected crimes in middle America.

The first season, titled Hell in the Heartland: The Witches of Nebraska, follows the story of a woman who was murdered after going on a date with someone she met online. In the process of investigating her death, authorities discovered her murderers were involved in a sadistic cult and leading a group of witches. A broadcaster has not yet been announced.

Hearst Magazines is continuing to expand its presence in the TV and film space, and the project is one of several being developed with Good Caper Content, which specialises in crime and investigative content.

Based in New York and LA and established in 2018, Good Caper Content has produced titles including Oxygen’s New York Homicide and A&E’s BTK: Confessions of a Serial Killer.

Hell in the Heartland is executive produced by Good Caper Content’s Alison Dammann and Hearst Magazines’ Zuri Rice and Jason Ikeler.
