GoldBee shops Chop Chop worldwide

Broadcasters including Nickelodeon in Europe have acquired a shortform animated TV series spun off from the Chop Chop Ninja mobile app.

Nickelodeon International has acquired Chop Chop Ninja Challenge (40×1.5′) for the UK and continental Europe, Russia, Central Europe, Turkey, Israel and South-East Asia. It has licensed pay TV and non-exclusive VoD rights

The non-verbal slapstick series has also been picked up by Chinese digital platform iQIYI, with Barcelona-based distributor GoldBee reporting more than 10 million views in the first two weeks.

Commissioned by Teletoon in Canada, the series has also been acquired by The Walt Disney Company in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America, as well as VRT in Belgium, NRK Super in Norway and Indosiar in Indonesia.

The shorts, which follow each of the four main characters from the app as they compete in individual challenges that test their skills, are a coproduction from Canada’s Sardine Productions, Gamerizon Studio and Teletoon Canada.

The Chop Chop game franchise was created by Gamerizon Studio and has racked up more than 19 million downloads worldwide, according to GoldBee.
