Globo gears up for Worst Driver

Brazilian network TV Globo is hitting the road with a new reality show after picking up Mentorn International’s Worst Driver format.

Ruim de Roda (aka Bad at the Wheel), which will debut later this month, takes the number of international editions of the format to 17.

The Brazilian version will be hosted by Luciano Huck and Stock Car Champion Cacá Bueno, and will be filmed on a former Formula 1 racetrack in Rio de Janeiro.

Worst Driver has also been renewed for new seasons in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland.

Proper Television is producing Worst Driver season eight (9×60′) for Discovery Channel Canada, which will air in October.

Skyhigh Television is producing a third season (8×60′) for BNN Netherlands, and a second (6×60′) for VTM Belgium.

Nordisk Film TV has begun production of the first season of Worst Driver for MTV3 Finland.

The show, which was originally commissioned by UK terrestrial Channel 5, sees family and friends nominate terrible motorists to improve their driving skills.
