Globo, Atresmedia Internacional renew content agreement for another five years

Globo and Atresmedia execs at Content Americas in Miami this week

CONTENT AMERICAS: Brazil’s Globo and Spain-based Atresmedia Internacional have renewed their five-year content agreement that allows the former’s programming to be seen on the Atreseries channel and the Atresplayer streamer in Lat Am and the Hispanic market in the US.

Through the previous agreement that began in 2018, Globo soap operas and series such as You Only Live Twice, Stolen Loves, The Hunter, Through Time and Ambitious Women have had their exclusive premiere in the above markets through the pay TV channel and Atresplayer.

“Since we launched the agreement five years ago, we have witnessed how well the audiences of Atreseries and Atresplayer received Globo’s content, which each month occupies very significant positions in the audience rankings and perfectly complements our original offer,” said Mar Martínez-Raposo, director of Atresmedia Internacional.

Regiane Marcílio, head of content and distribution partnerships at Globo, added: “We are very happy to continue this long-standing collaboration in strategic territories for Globo such as Latin America and the US. We are always looking for new audiences, and this renewal is a reflection that our content connects with diverse audiences.”

The renewal of the deal for another five years was announced at C21’s Content Americas, which began in Miami on Tuesday.
