Global sales are an otter triumph for Sir David Attenborough-narrated nature series Parenthood

There have been multiple sales of Sir David Attenborough-narrated nature series Parenthood

Now TV in Hong Kong, TVNZ in New Zealand and Network Ten in Australia are among the global buyers for Sir David Attenborough-narrated nature series Parenthood.

The 5×60’ natural history title, produced by All3Media-owned UK prodco Silverback Films for the BBC, has also been picked up by China Media Group’s documentary channel, CCTV-9, as the first linear window in China.

It will additionally stream on four Chinese VoD platforms: iQIYI, Youku, bilibili and Tencent Video, as well as Warner Bros Discovery platforms in select Asian regions. In Japan, meanwhile, it will be broadcast by the show’s local coproduction partner NHK.

In Europe and CEE, Parenthood is heading to NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland), Telefonica (Spain), SIC (Portugal), France Télévisions (France), SH Channel 8 (Israel), HRT (Croatia), Canal+ Polska (Poland), Latvian Television (Latvia), MTVA (Hungary) and ERR (Estonia). Discovery Asharq has licensed the series across MENA.

WNET has taken the show for the US, to air on PBS, while CBC has licensed the series for CBC TV and CBC Gem in Canada. Finally, Warner Bros Discovery has also signed a pan-territory deal for Latin America.

Parenthood explores the high-stakes challenges animal parents face in raising the next generation, from spiders and giraffes to otters and crabs.
