Glass Entertainment Makes a Deal with Hatos-Hall Productions for gameshow rights

Glass Entertainment Group, headed by former TV host Nancy Glass, has picked up the rights to gameshow format Let’s Make a Deal from Hatos-Hall Productions, the US prodco that has made the show since 1963.

The deal is a joint venture with US businessman and host of CNBC’s The Profit Marcus Lemonis, and gives Glass Entertainment the rights to other Hatos-Hall formats that may be rebooted.

Sharon Hall, whose father Monty hosted the original Let’s Make a Deal, has been brought on board as a consultant.

The renewal of the IP is part of a project from Glass, Lemonis and Hall to revive Hatos-Hall formats for a modern audience. All three will use their knowledge to strike partnerships for the show and boost its international profile.

Let’s Make a Deal has aired on CBS since 2009 and is hosted by Wayne Brady, with Fremantle producing. In the show, audience members are picked out by the host and offered a choice between a set amount of cash or another mystery prize. Competitors are then asked to gamble on what that prize is or stick with the money.

Lemonis said: “Let’s Make a Deal is so much more than a gameshow. It is part of American history and our entertainment culture. I love that it gives people the opportunity to be creative, think strategically and make deals to win some really great prizes. I’m also very excited to be working alongside two powerful and successful women in entertainment. How could this not be a great deal for me?”
