LA-based Get Me Out Productions has linked up with Film Fixers Balkans to set up a joint office in Athens and partner on unscripted projects.

The US producer will set up shop in the Greek capital with production services company Film Fixers, which operates in 19 countries across the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Get Me Out was founded by Greek-American producer Akim Anastopoulo – the face of long-running courtroom show Eye for an Eye – and his daughter and business partner Hali Anastopoulo.

Hali Anastopoulo is the creator of Men of West Hollywood, Get Me Out’s 10-part reality series acquired by Screen Media that debuted on Crackle Plus in January.

Film Fixers Balkans, meanwhile, has advised and supported Balkans-based shoots for shows including WWE Total Divas, 90-Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Naked & Afraid and Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

The two will now produce joint projects in addition to offering development, pre- and post-production services and distribution support, as well as location and logistics support, crew sourcing and tax incentive partnerships in Europe, with a focus on Greece.

“Since we first established Get Me Out Productions, we’ve had our sights on expanding globally, and in particular to our family’s homeland of Greece,” said Akim and Hali Anastopoulo in a joint statement.

“We aim to drive more engagement and collaboration between the US and Greek content industries, with a focus on unscripted television production and formats that can be shared between cultures and exported all over the world.

“Film Fixers Balkans is an ideal partner with their expertise in the region, and we’re very pleased to establish this new business venture with their excellent team.”

Trayan Velev, managing director of Film Fixers, added the partnership will allow it to grow its footprint in the unscripted production sector and its links with the US production industry.

“Over the last seven years, we have introduced many industry clients to the great creative minds, outstanding crews and beautiful locations of the Balkans. This partnership will allow us to do more in the long term, benefiting the Greek and Balkan creative industries and larger economies,” said Velev.
