Fremantle-owned German prodco UFA has set up a new label focused on esports, gaming and online creators, led by Jörg Adami and Christian Körner.

Cologne-based UFA Good Games launched on May 1 and is developing the UFA Creator Academy, which is scheduled to start this year to help young people become online creators.

It is headed up by Adami, previously CEO and co-founder of the esports Player Foundation, and Körner, a former company spokesman for RTL Germany and most recently director, communications and public affairs for UFA.

Sascha Schwingel, CEO of UFA, said: “We want to enthuse new platforms with novel entertainment offerings in order to open new target groups and revenue models. To this purpose we conducted a precise analysis of developments in the esports, games and creator industry.

“Combining this highly lively eco-system on a sustainable basis with our own expertise and network is an exciting project, creatively as well as economically. Jörg and Christian bring with them not only a joint vision but also excellent experience and networks, which complement each other ideally for this task.”
