George Michael doc joins Rocket Rights slate

George Michael: Portrait of an Artist

NEWS BRIEF: London-based distributor Rocket Rights has picked up the exclusive worldwide rights to Protocol Media’s 90-minute film George Michael: Portrait of an Artist, directed and produced by Simon Napier-Bell, the former manager of Wham.

The 12-chapter film charts Michael’s rise in the music industry to become one of the world’s top singer-songwriters, selling more than 120 million records. On top of Napier-Bell’s involvement, the doc features interviews from global names such as Stevie Wonder, Stephen Fry, Kenny Goss and Sananda Maitreya (Terence Trent-D’Arby).
