Genius Brands continues push into AI-generated content with Buffett shorts

Business-adventure spin-off series Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club Minis

US-based children’s entertainment company Genius Brands International (GBI) is continuing its push into artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content with a series of animated shorts based on Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club.

GBI will release Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club Minis, produced by Genius AI Studio, on May 15 across its Kartoon Channel! on YouTube and other social media outlets.

Created in partnership with and starring an animated version of the US business magnate, Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club was launched by GBI in 2011 and features a group of kids who have adventures in business.

The spin-off comes after GBI last month announced its first kids’ series made using AI technology, Kidaverse Fast Facts, which is using AI for scripts, images, voice and animation with technology such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot.

The use of AI to assist in the production of animated content for children is proving controversial, with some producers describing the development as “downright scary” and “pretty horrifying.”

GBI responded to the criticism of its use of AI earlier this week, with Paul Robinson, co-president of GBI-owned Kartoon Channel! Worldwide, emphasising the tech would only be used to assist the production, rather than create it.
