A+E Networks cable channel FYI has named its new exec VP and general manager, replacing Jana Bennett, who left for sister channel History last year.

Paul Greenberg, the former CEO of pop-culture media brand Nylon, takes on the role vacated by Bennett after she was appointed president and general manager of History in September.

The New York-based exec begins his new role on January 19 and reports to Nancy Dubuc, president and CEO of A+E Networks.

Prior to Nylon, Greenberg had a stint as president of global dance music company SFX and before that was CEO of IAC’s CollegeHumor.

In 2009 he was executive VP and general manager at TV Guide Digital, while he has also previously held executive roles at digital music provider MediaNet and MTV Networks.

Bennett was previously president of FYI and LMN, but the latter channel has now joined the portfolio of Rob Sharenow, exec VP and general manager of A&E and Lifetime.

A 30-year veteran of the BBC and former controller of Discovery’s TLC network, Bennett oversaw the launch of FYI in the US in early 2014 as it replaced existing A+E Networks brand Bio. The channel has enjoyed ratings success with breakout formats such as Married at First Sight.
