FYI boss exits A+E Networks

The head of A+E Networks’ cable network FYI is leaving the company to set up his own consultancy firm.

Paul Greenberg

Paul Greenberg joined A+E Networks in early 2016 to replace Jana Bennett, who had left for FYI’s sister channel History in late 2015.

He was also general manager of 45th & Dean, a digital studio that developed shortform and longform video content for all A+E’s brands and, more recently, Facebook.

Greenberg confirmed on Twitter that he was leaving A+E to launch his own digital video consultancy and agency called Butter Works. He will be replaced at A+E Networks by Gena McCarthy, FYI’s exec VP of programming and development, according to US reports.

Greenberg is the former CEO of pop-culture media brand Nylon and also had a stint as president of global dance music company SFX.

Before that he was CEO of IAC’s site CollegeHumor and in 2009 he was named executive VP and general manager at TV Guide Digital. He has also previously held executive roles at digital music provider MediaNet and MTV Networks.
