FX renews Welcome to Wrexham for S5, sets premiere for spin-off

NEWS BRIEF: Disney-owned pay TV network FX has renewed Welcome to Wrexham, the docuseries following Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as the owners of Welsh football team Wrexham FC, for a fifth season, which will follow their debut in the EFL Championship after the club secured promotion earlier this month.

More Better Productions, Maximum Effort, 3 Arts Entertainment and Boardwalk Pictures produce the series. In addition, FX said the previously announced spin-off Welcome to Necaxa (FX, Disney+ Latin America), which follows a transformational era at the Mexican team of the same name, will premiere this summer. The spin-off comes from Eva Longoria and Cris Abrego’s Hyphenate Media Group, More Better Productions, Maximum Effort and 3 Arts Entertainment.
