FX gears up for more Mayans MC

Mayans MC was the top-rated launch of the year on US cable

US cablenet FX has renewed Sons of Anarchy spin-off series Mayans MC for a third season.

The show, from Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has become US cable’s most watched new series among 18-49s in 2019, averaging 4.6 million viewers per episode.

The show follows on from Sons of Anarchy and is set on the California-Mexico border. It is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

The season two finale airs tomorrow night on FX in the US.

Sons of Anarchy aired for seven seasons on the network between 2008 and 2014.
