Fuji TV brings Who Wants to be a Millionaire? back to Japan after 13 years

The Who Wants to be a Millionaire? format is owned by Sony Pictures Television

Quizshow format Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is returning to Japan after more than a decade with a New Year’s Day special.

Fuji TV, the show’s original broadcaster, is bringing the show back, having last aired a new episode in 2013.

Also known in Japan as Quiz $ Millionaire, the format will return on January 1, with Kazunari Ninomiya joining as host.

Celebrity contestants set to appear include Tsuyoshi Muro, Fuma Kikuchi, Kanna Hashimoto and Ano.

Created by Celador International and later 2waytraffic and currently owned and licensed by Sony Pictures Television, the show premiered in Japan in 2000 and was previously hosted by Monta Mino.
