French version of SBS6’s Dutch whodunit format A Party to Die For greenlit by M6

French network M6 has commissioned a local-language adaptation of Dutch reality game format A Party to Die For.

Originally produced by ITV Studios (ITVS) Netherlands for broadcaster SBS6, the Gallic version will be titled Murder Party au Musée and will be made by ITV Studios France.

Presented by French actor Francis Huster, it sees celebrities attempt to solve a fictional murder at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, in Paris.

A Party to Die For is a format from ITVS Netherlands and Talpa Studios. ITVS is handling international distribution.

In related news, SBS6 has ordered a second season of the show in the Netherlands, following its debut series last year.

Pierre Guillaume Ledan, deputy MD of unscripted programming at M6 Group, said: “We immediately loved this format because it ticks so many boxes: it’s a concept that feels very current, reminiscent of a famous mystery game but with real staging, humour and suspense.

“It’s a family-friendly, intergenerational show that can bring together young and old around a life-sized whodunit.”
