Fremantle’s Naked appoints Apprentice EP Paul Broadbent as head of entertainment

Paul Broadbent, exec producer of the BBC’s The Apprentice, has been appointed head of entertainment at Fremantle’s UK label Naked, overseeing a slate of new entertainment shows alongside existing hits and new concepts.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Broadbent has exec produced four seasons of The Apprentice and prior to that was series editor on the BBC One show for Naked.

Broadbent also helped to develop Channel 4’s Gogglebox and was series editor on the first three seasons for Studio Lambert. He also helped to create and executive produce Rumpus Media’s Mary Berry Saves Christmas for BBC One.

Prior to that he was series producer on seasons four and five of The Only Way is Essex for Lime Pictures and a producer on Strictly Come Dancing and Made in Chelsea.

The appointment follows Naked’s hiring of James Lessell as head of factual entertainment, Cam de la Huerta to head formats and Karen Knowles to oversee head of production.

His experience in the entertainment field makes him the perfect person for this role.”
