The agreement will see the production company develop and produce an innovative slate of new scripted drama series in partnership with Netherlands-based Korthuis.

In addition to collaborating with Fiction Valley and its creative director Annemieke van Vliet on Dirty Lines, Korthuis was also behind Dutch crime series Penoza, which was remade in seven countries, including the US for ABC and India for Disney+ Hotstar.

Fiction Valley produced the first Dutch Original Netflix feature Forever Rich, as well as comedy series Deep Shit and Follow the STD. The firm’s other shows include crime series Mocro Maffia, Netflix high-tech heist thriller The Takeover and the online coming-of-age comedy WTF?!.

Korthuis said: “Fiction Valley has proven to be a company that puts talent first. It was because of the support of Annemieke van Vliet I felt confident enough to develop such a challenging and fun show like Dirty Lines. I’m looking forward to continue working with her and her team to create exciting new projects for the Dutch and international market.”

Van Vliet said: “Having worked with Pieter Bart Korthuis on Dirty Lines and other series, we are looking forward to this creative partnership. Pieter’s extraordinary talent as creator, writer, director and showrunner is unique and beyond limits. It’s an honour that he’ll be joining forces with Fiction Valley for the next three years.”
