Fremantle UK staffs digital arm

FremantleMedia UK (FMUK) has appointed Syco Entertainment exec Kat Hebden as its head of interactive, replacing Peter Cassidy.

Kat Hebden will focus on developing FMUK’s digital production operation, growing its portfolio of online video channels and working to produce original content and drive digital innovation on new and existing shows.

She takes over from Cassidy, who left last month to join Applicaster, and will also work alongside Fremantle’s global digital and branded entertainment division to create content with partners including Vice Media, StyleHaul, Divimove and others.

FMUK said Hebden – previously exec producer for digital at Simon Cowell’s Syco – will help open its digital expertise, distribution and brand partnerships to both established and emerging talent.

Meanwhile, Endemol (Big Brother) digital producer Charlie Campbell joins the FMUK team as digital exec producer for entertainment shows The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

The appointment comes almost a month after seasoned Fremantle interactive producer Jonathan Almond departed to take up a new position at Jamie Oliver’s London-based prodco Fresh One, as revealed by C21.
