Fremantle, Sky Vision trade execs

Sky Vision, the distribution arm of UK satcaster BSkyB, has brought in an executive from FremantleMedia International (FMI) to head its acquisitions, while the former incumbent has taken the reverse route.

Niki Page, who will join Sky Vision next year, has been named head of acquisitions, factual and factual entertainment.

She was most recently director of acquisitions and development at FMI, FremantleMedia’s distribution arm, focusing on non-scripted global content across EMEA and Asia Pacific.

Page replaces Angela Neillis, who left Sky Vision in March after only three months in the job.

At the time it was unclear whether the former BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) commercial director had left to take up a role at a new company. She has now resurfaced in Page’s old position at FMI.

At Sky Vision, Page will work alongside Alex Fraser, who was recently appointed to head acquisitions of scripted and entertainment, as well as covering North America, with the duo both reporting to commercial director Connie Hodson.

Prior to working at FremantleMedia, Page was acquisitions manager at London-based distribution firms Channel 4 International and DRG.

It is the latest exec reshuffle at Sky Vision following Carl Hall’s exit from the company, which saw Jane Millichip taking over the UK distributor as MD.

Hodson said Page would be “instrumental” to the firm, which has increased the range of genres it represents over recent months.

Elsewhere, Mauro Sala has been appointed as Sky Vision’s senior sales exec for Turkey, Africa, Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and inflight sales.

Sala was previously a sales exec at BBCWW. He will report to head of global sales Leona Connell.

At FMI, Neillis assumes responsibility for keeping the division’s pipeline charged with non-scripted content, both from in-house productions and third-party producers.

She will work with Sarah Doole, who was seconded recently from FremantleMedia’s Worldwide Drama team to be acting director of scripted content at FMI.
