Fremantle preps Chilean drama for TVN

Chilean broadcaster TVN has started production on an eight-part drama set in the city of Santiago and produced with Fremantle and local prodcos Fabula and Kapow.

La Jauría is directed by screenwriter and film director Lucia Puenzo (Ingobernable), alongside Sergio Castro (La Mujer de Barro), Marialy Rivas (Young & Wild) and Nicolás Puenzo (Los Invisibles). Juan de Dios Larrain and Pablo Larrain write.

The show revolves around a police force that specialises in gender-related crimes and as it investigates the strange disappearance of a young woman.

Daniela Vega (A Fantastic Woman), Antonia Zegers (The Club) and María Gracia Omegna (Young & Wild) star.

Christian Vesper, exec VP, creative director, global drama at Fremantle, said: “With Lucia Puenzo’s unique voice and vision, Juan de Dios Larrain and Pablo Larrain’s creative storytelling and our distinguished cast, La Jauría is set to be a visceral thriller.

“Set against the backdrop of the struggle to address the epidemic of violence against women, the series will explore how women and men are navigating today’s world, and how young people are transforming the fragmented beliefs in the gender norms that fuel this type of violence.”

Executive producers on La Jauría include Christian Vesper for Fremantle, Ángela Poblete, Juan de Dios Larraín, Pablo Larraín, Juan Ignacio Correa and Matías Amocain for Fabula, and Rony Goldschmied for TVN. Fremantle will distribute globally.
