Fremantle names Maccanico and Fallot as country leads for Italy, France, Iberia, Israel

European production group Fremantle has appointed Nicola Maccanico to the newly created role of CEO of Fremantle Italy Group and promoted Bruno Fallot to CEO for France, Iberia and Israel.

Both will take up their roles with immediate effect, reporting to Andrea Scrosati, Fremantle’s group chief operating officer and CEO for continental Europe.

Maccanico will oversee the Italian group’s operations and portfolio of labels, which comprises Wildside, The Apartment Pictures, Lux Vide and Fremantle Italy, and their CEOs Sonia Rovai, Annamaria Morelli, Luca Bernabei and Marco Tombolini. He will also join the Fremantle global leadership team.

Maccanico joins Fremantle from Cinecittà Studios, where as CEO for the past three years he was instrumental in the relaunch of the film studio. Previously, he has been exec VP of programming at Sky Italia, CEO at Vision Distribution and MD of theatrical at Warner Brothers Italy.

In his newly expanded role, Bruno Fallot will be responsible for Fremantle’s production businesses in France, Spain, Portugal and Israel. He will also join the Fremantle global leadership team.

Fallot became CEO of Fremantle France in 2018 and assembled a team that oversaw shows including Farmer Wants a Wife, France’s Got Talent and Going for Gold. He also launched new programmes on linear channels and platforms including Mission Travaux, Nouvelle Maison pour Une Nouvelle Vie, The Price is Right and Family Feud.

Scrosati said: “I am excited to work with Nicola and Bruno to drive the business in Southern Europe forward as we continue to invest and grow our portfolio of Fremantle business and labels. I have known and worked with Nicola for many years and always admired his business acumen and leadership.
