Fremantle has made a pair of key additions within its US content team, including the hire of A+E Global Media and Netflix alum Jhamal Robinson as head of US production for scripted and unscripted.

Robinson, who was most recently the executive VP of physical production and head of AI studio at A+E Global Media, will be charged with overseeing all aspects of Fremantle’s American unscripted and scripted physical production.

This includes US projects from Fremantle-owned prodcos Eureka Productions and Original Productions. He will also have oversight of strategic planning, execution and delivery of projects. He will report to Suzanne Lopez, chief operating officer for Fremantle in North America.

Prior to A+E Global Media, Robinson was the VP of production management for the US and Canada at Netflix, leading production strategy for films and series.

Fremantle also appointed former AGC Studios exec Emily Knight as senior VP of unscripted development, a role that will see her spearheading the development of new formats.

Knight was formerly the senior VP of development at AGC Studios and before that was head of development at UK production companies including Expectation and Maverick. Working on titles including Ex on the Beach and the reboots of How to Look Good Naked and 10 Years Younger. She reports to Jimmy Fox, exec VP of unscripted development and sales, in her new position.

“As our production slate continues to grow in both scale and ambition, it’s essential that our leadership team evolves alongside it,” said Lopez.

“Adding these two exceptional executives to our leadership team will help ensure Fremantle remains at the forefront of delivering groundbreaking programming across every platform.”
