Fremantle expands Gabriella Carriere role to include new business

Fremantle has expanded the remit of Gabriella Carriere, adding new business to her existing responsibilities as group head of strategy.

Taking on the new title of group head of strategy and new business, Carriere will continue reporting to Andrea Scrosati, group chief operating officer and CEO, continental Europe, at Fremantle.

Carriere will now oversee key growth areas across the group, including Fremantle Sport, branded content and licensing, live events, monetisation of music rights and deep library, while continuing to lead Fremantle’s global strategy.

Carriere will drive value creation, growth initiatives and monetisation of these areas across the Fremantle Group. Owain Walbyoff, director of Fremantle Sports, and Roberta Zamboni, global head of branded content and sponsorships, will report to Carriere.

According to Fremantle, Carriere’s expanded remit reflects the company’s commitment to building “future-facing business models and unlocking new revenue opportunities across platforms and markets.”

Carriere joined Fremantle in 2022 as group head of strategy and has worked on the launch of its documentaries arm, the recently announced Fremantle Sports unit, post-M&A integration across multiple territories, and the oversight and development of Fremantle’s global branded entertainment strategy.

Prior to Fremantle, Carriere held senior strategic roles at Sky Italia, having begun her career in the energy sector, with leadership positions at EDF and Edison.
