Freeform orders Ryan Seacrest, ABC Signature drama The Watchful Eye to series

Disney-owned cablenet Freeform has ordered a new drama from Ryan Seacrest Productions and ABC Signature.

The Watchful Eye is created by Julie Durk (Grace and Frankie), with Emily Fox (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) as showrunner and executive producer.

Ryan Seacrest, Nina Wass, Andrea Shay and Jeffrey Reiner are also executive producing.

The series order comes after the project (fka The Nanny) was ordered to pilot last year. It follows a young woman who, while working as a live-in nanny for an affluent family in Manhattan, learns that everyone in the mysterious building has deadly secrets and ulterior motives.

The series stars Mariel Molino (Promised Land), Warren Christie (The Village) and Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls). Additional cast includes Amy Acker (The Gifted), Jon Ecker (Firefly Lane), Lex Lumpkin (All That), Henry Joseph Samiri (The Bold and the Beautiful) and Aliyah Royale (The Walking Dead: The World Beyond).
