Fred Media debuts new partners and biggest slate to date at Mipcom

Luxury Escapes follows Australian celebrities on five-star holidays

Australian distributor Fred Media has added seven new producer partners to its roster, bolstering its Mipcom offering.

Fred Media, part of the WTFN group, will be showcasing its biggest slate of content to date at Mipcom, with 450 hours of programming and a special focus on home/renovation and design titles.

In new content partners, 1440 Productons will be represented by Fred with three seasons of The Yes Experiment (35×30’), a family format which pits kids against parents who are forced to say “yes” to children’s demands for a full day.

UK-based Screen Glue has joined the roster with children’s series’ Art Adventures with Fred and Pete (30×14’) and Fred and Pete’s Treasure Tales (30×14’) originally produced for the BBC’s Cbeebies.

In new documentary, Fred will represent Free Flow Films’ Washed Away, a first-hand account of the 2022 Northern NSW floods. While new partners Magnetic Pictures and Rockpool Media’s The Lion Queen follows a lion expert establishing a new lion sanctuary in South Africa.

In home renovations, there’s Rachel and Ryan Productions’ Holiday Home Makeover with Rachel and Ryan (6×60’) following the creative husband and wife duo as they take on the challenges of transforming tired properties into a dream holiday home. Maker Media also join the renovation roster with S2 of Budget Battlers, (6×60’), a makeover format that rallies communities to support deserving people on a tight budget with help.

Producers Luxury Escapes Travel are on board for three seasons (36×30’) of Luxury Escapes, which follows Australian celebrities around the world in hand-picked, five-star holidays.

In distribution coups, Fred has secured North Light Productions’ entire programme catalogue for representation globally outside of the Americas. This features a number of new titles, including clean energy series Energy Matters (8×30’), food show Local Menu with Shannon Bennett (6×60’) and renovation shows Beyond the Build (5×60’), Cherie Barber’s Tiny Home Reno (1×60’) and Epic Build – The 90 Day Challenge (8×60’).

Returning producers to the Mipcom slate include MWC Media’s Offline Travel (6×30’), the entire ByDesign catalogue featuring 35 series and 200+ episodes originally developed for CBS in the US and Ten in Australia. From producer Nine Network, three seasons of Antiques DownUnder (38×30’) and new kids show improv comedy series Theatre Dome (200×30’), will be represented.  Additionally, WTFN will be showcased with new seasons of returning unscripted series; Space Invaders S6 (8×60’), Paramedics S7 (10×60’) and Emergency S6 (10×60’).
