France’s TF1 commissions local version of Global Agency singing format Blind Duets

Blind Duets was created by Gila Kantar and Izzet Pinto

MIPCOM: French commercial network TF1 has ordered a local version of singing competition format Blind Duets in a deal sealed at Mipcom.

In Blind Duets, celebrity singers select a contestant, whose identity is obscured, to perform a duet with based on the strength of their voice alone, before the winner is decided by a public vote.

The format was created by co-founder Gila Kantar and founder and CEO Izzet Pinto at Global Agency, the Turkish distributor that also handles international sales of the competition series.

TF1 and Global Agency have previously paired on signing format Good Singers, which the commercial network recently renewed for a second season.

Julien Degroote, head of content development at TF1 Group, said: “After two successful seasons of Good Singers on TF1 and with new episodes to come, it’s so great to work on a new pure co-viewing entertainment show for all the family where celebrities and contestants will have fun together on stage.”
