Ana Pumpkin has been acquired by the likes of RTP and ABC Kids

Broadcasters in Portugal, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico have been shopping for animated series at sales house France TV Distribution (FTD).

The Paris-based distributor has announced sales for several new series on its slate, including Ana Pumpkin (52×5’), produced by Folimages and Les Armateurs for France 5, about an impish young girl and her loyal canine friend.

The show will soon be aired on Portugal’s RTP, Australia’s ABC Kids, Brazil’s Gloobinho (and also on sister platform Giga Gloob), Ludikids in French-speaking Africa and United Arab Emirates-based channel E-Junior.

The preschool toon has previously been licensed to Finland’s YLE, Estonia’s ERR, Latvia’s LTV and the Czech Republic’s Ceska.

Disco Dragon (52×13’) produced by Italy’s Mondo TV for France 3, meanwhile, has been picked up by RTP, after recent sales to Giga Gloob and E-Junior. The show, aimed at six- to nine-year-olds, is about a young girl and a music-loving dragon.

Another animated series, Super Caribou (48×11/2×22’), from Autour de Minuit for France Télévisions, has been licensed into Mexico, Brazil and Canada, on Canal Once, Giga Gloob and TV5 Québec respectively. The show is currently airing on Germany’s KiKa channel.

Further toon sales for FTD include police comedy Grosha & Mr B (52×11’), from La Station Animation for Canal+, which is going to Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC3, while preschool show Dimitri (50×5’), from Vivement Lundi!, France TV Education and Nadasdy Film for France 5, has been acquired by RTP following recent sales to Ludikids and Canal+ Family.

Lastly, shortform toon Peanuts (500×60”, 104×7’), based on the famous Schulz comic strip and produced by Peanuts Worldwide and Normaal Animation, has been picked up by Brazil’s Globoplay, and by Movistar TV App and Canela TV in Latin America.

“Each of the animation series we present in our line-up is original, outstanding and highly ambitious. We love all of them and our team is really proud to bring them to worldwide audiences through our international partners,” said Julia Schulte, senior VP of international sales at FTD.
