France Télévisions, Superprod Animation team on comic book adaptation

FRNCK was created by artist Brice Cossu and writer Olivier Bocquet

MIPCOM: French public broadcaster France Télévisions is teaming with local animation outfit Superprod on a series based on hit comic book FRNCK.

FRNCK is based on the comic book series created by artist Brice Cossu and writer Olivier Bocquet. Originally published in kids’ magazine Spirou in 2016 and later released as graphic novels by Dupuis.

In the story, Franck, a 13-year-old orphan, suddenly finds himself transported back to the prehistoric era, surrounded by hungry dinosaurs, giant insects, and ferocious plants. Fortunately, he’s rescued by Kenza, a 14-year-old prehistoric girl who takes him back to her tribe.

Superprod revealed at Mipcom this week it is working on a 26×30’ 3D animated version.
