France Télévisions, Dandelooo, TeamTO partner to adapt What’s Up Eesha? books

What’s Up Eesha? is based on the popular children’s books by Jean Gourounas

MIPJUNIOR: French animation studios Dandelooo and TeamTO have joined forces to bring the new preschool comedy series What’s Up Eesha? to young audiences worldwide.

The 52×11’ 3D animated series, developed for children aged 4-6, was created by TeamTO in association with public broadcaster France Télévisions and is based on the popular children’s books by Jean Gourounas. The series is directed by Loic Espuche and brings to life the imaginative world of a clever young penguin and her group of friends.

Under the terms of their distribution agreement, Dandelooo will handle worldwide rights for What’s Up Eesha?, excluding French-speaking Europe, Italian-speaking Europe (including Switzerland), China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, where TeamTO retains distribution rights.

Emmanuèle Pétry, producer and head of international at Dandelooo, said: “We are extremely honoured that our longtime friends at TeamTO have chosen Dandelooo as their global distributor. Thanks to the wonderful talent of Loic Espuche, we believe this new enchanting series will become a huge hit.”

Corinne Kouper, senior VP of development and production at TeamTO, added: “I especially love how this show highlights the importance of creativity, patience and flexibility in the face of change, alongside its amazingly colourful and fun animation. We are beyond happy that Dandelooo will be introducing Eesha to the world at Mipcom.”

Yesterday, C21 reported that TeamTO is up for sale having recently entered receivership, with French media and education group Hildegarde among those interested in taking the company over.
