In The Black Network is set to launch in October and will stream an “extensive collection” of free entertainment content including sports, music, scripted drama, talkshows, family-orientated programming and feature films.

The AVoD service will be available on iOS and Android devices, as well as Apple TV, YouTube, Roku, LG, Sony, and Samsung media players, with more distribution partners to follow, according to the company.

As well as its own originals, the service will feature multiple titles from Fox Television Stations that originally launched on Fox Soul that DuBose helped develop.

Titles include Brutally Honest with Jasmine Brand, CheMinistry, The Score, Worth a Conversation with Jeezy, Kitchen Talk with Maino and Crockett’s Corner with Ray Crockett.

DuBose spent three years at Fox Soul, which launched in early 2020, before leaving earlier this year to set up In The Black Network.

It has tapped the services of streaming technology company Brightcove to power its platform, joining the likes of AMC Networks, BBC Studios and Reelz in using the Boston-based firm.

“In The Black Network is gearing up to be the go-to streaming service for black creators to share their voices across a wide range of audiences through compelling, impactful, original, and culturally relevant stories,” said Marc DeBevoise, CEO of Brightcove.
