Fox revives Don’t Forget the Lyrics

Don’t Forget the Lyrics became a hit around the world after airing on Fox

US broadcast network Fox is bringing back musical gameshow Don’t Forget the Lyrics for a new season, 10 years after it last aired in the country.

The show originally aired on Fox between 2007 and 2009, before a syndicated version ran between 2010 and 2011. The format gives contestants the chance to win US$1m if they can remember the words to 10 songs without making a mistake.

The reboot will also air on Fox Entertainment’s streaming platform Tubi. Clean House star Niecy Nash will host the show, having recently guest hosted five episodes of the US version of fellow music format The Masked Singer for Fox.

The format was created by Jeff Apploff, who returns as an executive producer for the new season. Since its creation, the US original has spawned over 20 local adaptations, including in the UK on Sky1.

Apploff Entertainment and Bunim/Murray Productions are the production companies, Rupert Dobson and Nash also exec producing. The format is distributed worldwide by Banijay.
