Fox realigns syndication arm

21st Century Fox has put its television syndication and distribution business under the control of its television production studio, Twentieth Century Fox Television.

Twentieth Television, formerly part of Fox Television Stations, will continue to be led by president Greg Meidel, who will now report to Gary Newman and Dana Walden, chairmen of Twentieth Century Fox Television.

The unit will continue to handle all domestic broadcast and cable syndication and distribution, and will oversee sales of Twentieth Century Fox Television’s shows, including Modern Family, Glee, New Girl and How I Met Your Mother.

Meanwhile, Fox Television Stations will still develop and produce first-run programming, which will now be overseen by Stephen Brown, exec VP of programming and development, reporting to Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations.

News Corp renamed its entertainment company 21st Century Fox earlier this year as it continues to separate its publishing and television arms.
