Fox orders local adaptation of BBC mockumentary series This Country

Mockumentary series Welcome to Flatch

US broadcaster Fox has ordered a local adaptation of the BBC in the UK’s documentary-style comedy format This Country.

Titled Welcome to Flatch, Fox’s adaptation is a half-hour single-cam mockumentary series that follows a documentary crew as they set out to explore the lives of residents in a small American town.

The series is produced by Lionsgate, BBC Studios’ LA production arm and Fox Entertainment, written and exec produced by Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City), and directed and exec produced by Paul Feig (The Office), who also wrote two episodes.

Also exec producing are BBC Studios LA’s senior VP of scripted development Angie Stephenson and This Country’s sibling creators, writers and stars Charlie and Daisy May Cooper.

Welcome to Flatch will premiere on Fox on March 17, with the first seven episodes also launching on Hulu, Fox Now and On Demand on the same day.
